1. What size is the new European map? 1. What size is the new European map? Please refer to the product description for more information. 2. What size is the new North American map? Please refer to the product description for more information. 3. Why are the maps so big? The maps are large because of their rich composition of data. In addition to comprehensive road networks, the maps also contain many thousands of Points of Interest including hotels to hospitals, sports venues to ski resorts and marinas to museums. 4. Can I install the entire European continent on a single card? Yes (as the previous 512mb size restrictions has been removed) and as long as your card is large enough. 5. Why do I need to buy a map update? The road network is constantly changing which is why NAVTEQ maps are updated twice a year. With the new map release you can be comfortable that you have the latest, most accurate information available for your Dell GPS Navigation System, ensuring you enjoy stress-free travel whether on business or at play. 6. How do I order a new application upgrade? You will receive the most recent application upgrade included when you buy your new map. 7. How do I install my new map update? As new map data is not compatible with older system files, to successfully upgrade, you will first have to completely uninstall the old system.
8. Is the Dell Navigation System available in a language other than English? The European map is available in 5 languages; English, French, German, Spanish and Italian. The North American map is available in US English with French language available in the 2006 release. 9. How often are new map updates released? New releases are available once per year. 10. How are my maps delivered and how long does it take?
All maps are delivered by trackable couriers. In Europe deliveries take no longer than 2* days. In the US** you can choose from two methods of delivery**; Standard 2 day delivery in the US or Canada or in the US only we offer Overnight Shipping. 11. Do I have to pay local taxes? Yes we will display local taxes as you order your map. If your country-specific tax is not shown, then we apply tax at the Dutch tax rate (for orders outside of North America). 12. How do I know when the next map is released? You can contact us to register for information on when new maps are released. Contact Us Here. 13. Is the software downloadable or available as a download? No. The maps are too large for downloading and are instead supplied on 3 CD's. 14. How do I know which version I currently have? From the map view screen please select 'Features' from the menu bar at the bottom of the screen. Now select 'About Dell GPS Navigation System.' 15. How secure are my payment details? To help protect your credit card number and personal information, we encrypt every order. Encryption is a process by which we use software to scramble your credit card number and personal information. 16. How do I obtain technical advice?
